Welcome to our website!

Welcome to the Thornton West Residents’ Association (TWRA) website where we bring you news, features, information and announcements about local events and activities.

TWRA is a residents’ association representing households in our five streets –Thornton Hill, West Avenue, Waverley Avenue, Hillside Avenue and Highcross Road. Our aim in TWRA is to maintain the standards of an area of family houses and to promote community spirit. We keep you informed of issues affecting our area and, when necessary, take action to defend the values of our area which, we believe, so many of the people living here find attractive and desirable.

The Thornton West neighbourhood is a Conservation Area, comprising 130 houses predominantly of the Arts & Crafts period. Most of the houses are unique in design and boast features and characteristics that make this part of Exeter an area of significant architectural and historic interest. We believe that these qualities should be recognised, maintained and cherished.
